Trex eCCPM Mod : Making The Push Rods

One of the standard Align metal rods is right size - 30mm long The other two have to be made, here are three ways to do it. ROD LENGTHS are approximately  22mm     26mm     32mm 

OPTION ONE

1. Cut the rod to the correct length leaving a thread on one side, using a small die cut a thread on the other.

OPTION TWO

1. Cut two rods with threads on one end, so that when placed together side by side, they overlap by about 6mm  then solder them together.

OPTION THREE .

1. Cut two rods with threads on each end, place together end to end so the total rod length is the right size. 

2. Cut two 10mm pieces of brass tube and place over joint, then solder them together.    

TIP.  To cut the brass tube, use a rolling action ( back and forth ) while cutting it with a craft knife .   

TIP.  On a few sheets of cardboard draw two lines at the required length, tape them in position with masking tape and solder them together.

Screw ball links on the rods so there is equal amounts of thread showing at both sides, the lengths are then measured HOLE CENTRE TO HOLE CENTRE.

These size's are starting point and may be required to be adjusted on each individual set up.
